The Hollywood Tower Hotel - Tower of Terror
These are pictures I shot for One More Minute, of the famous Hollywood Tower Hotel. Some say there are rumors about this place...
Our story begins on Hollywood Boulevard. It is dark and the spotlights enlighten a new building which does the all town proud. All the top people in the town crowd at the Great Opening to admire the rich and sumptuous decors made of tapestries, sculptures, and other decorations coming from all around the world. The Pueblo-Deco’s style of the building is directly inspired from the Art-Deco’s architecture of the first twentieth century’s decades. The Buffalo City Hall (New York) finished in 1931 or the mythic Chrysler Building (Manhattan) prove it.
During almost ten years, the hotel was always full. The greatest personalities succeeded each other, without suspecting anything about the tragedy that would happen...

1939, October 31
That night, a lashing rain was on the town and storms were enlightening the sky, but it didn’t prevent people from assisting to the gala ball organized at the Tip Top Club, at the Hollywood Tower Hotel’s thirtieth floor. On this Halloween evening, a family had booked a comfortable room. Escorted by the groom who was caring their personal aspects, they took one of the Tower’s elevators. Then, the tragedy happened.
In a frightening racket that made the building shake from end to end, an incredible powerful storm hit violently the hotel, cutting off the electricity and pulverizing the all frontage. The elevator was projected in the depths, towards the fourth dimension… The building was evacuated in a rush and now, it only remains a torpor that will be trouble by your visit…
